That's a sexy car. I've always loved those. Good way to look really rich when you only spent Toyota Camry money haha

Ooh this is nice. If I had the money I’d certainly at least be discussing possible issues/ownership cost with AMGtech...

Very nice, maybe some SL600 wheels would make it perfect!

I was super unimpressed when I drove one. Thing’s a goddamn boat. The XK and old 6ers are so much better.

No one thinks of Jaguars - you’re right. I’ve driven 380SL and 500SL (1992 or so) - they’re really more cruiser than sports car. Still, there are worse ways to get around.

I’ve heard some good things about the R129. Haven’t driven one though. I’m all for big heavy grand-tourers, but the R230 just feels bloated and dead.

Dating a Mercedes assistant service manager when it came out, so I got to drive one. It’s OK, but the overcomplicated automatic roof is likely to cause problems. Hard to believe those things are 25 years old.

Sounds about right. Either way, when it comes time to add a GT to the stable, I’ll be avoiding the Benzes.
